Anna's Career: Playboy Covers
Anna was chosen by Hugh Hefner to be May1993's Playmate of the year and she graced
the covers of four Playboy issues. She was different than most models because of her bigger
size and voluptuous assets. She told reporters she aspired to be "the next Marilyn Monroe".
The Beginning: Guess Jeans
Anna began her career in 1992 when she got an offer from Paul Maciano of Guess Jeans
to model his clothing. She quickly shot to superstardom representing "old hollywood glamour"
and couldn't have been more suprised at her success. "I didn't know what Guess Jeans were,"
she said. "I just shopped at Wal-Mart and K-Mart and stuff like that". Anna's billboards
caused accidents in major cities. Her success was only starting during this period and little
did she know, she was about to become one of the biggest superstars and sex symbols
of the 20th century.
Film and Television Career
Anna has appeared in multiple films including The Hudsucker Proxy, Naked Gun 33 1\2, To The
Limit and The Final Insult. In 1997 Smith co-directed and starred in SkyScraper. In 2002,
she debuted her own TV Show called "The Anna Nicole Show". A frequent guest on her show
was her stylist and friend Bobby Trendy who often feuded with her lawyer and later lover
Howard K. Stern. The debut of her TV show was the highest rated series on the E! network.
Just as always, critics condemned the show and gave it poor ratings. The show was cancelled
in February of 2004 because of "creative differences". However, it still remains available
on DVD and VHS.
Anna's next big screen project was starring as herself in Wasabi Tuna in 2003. She appeared
as herself again in Be Cool in 2005. Her last project she was working on was Illegal Aliens.
A movie is set to come out next summer about Anna's life and Willa Ford has been chosen to play Smith.
TrimSpa Baby
In 2003, Smith became the spokesperson for TrimSpa diet products, which reportedly helped her shed 69 lbs. In 2004 she appeared in
Advertisements for Peta saying,"Gentleman prefer fur-free Blondes". In 2005, she posed in an advertisement against Iams for their cruelty to
animals.
